Description

The Polysurlyn Moisture Barrier is an engineered three-layer coextruded film of polyethene and Surlyn polymers with a total film thickness of 3 mils (76 µm). In the factory, Polysurlyn Moisture Barrier is heat laminated to the interior surface of all varieties of metal jacketing for mechanical insulation. This helps prevent pitting, crevice, and galvanic corrosion of the interior surface of the metal jacketing and the underlying insulated pipe, tank, or equipment. This corrosion can occur when water enters the installed insulation system through joints or damage in the metal jacketing.

Aluminium roll jacketing is available in a smooth finish or a stucco embossed pattern. Either finish can come with 5mm (3 / 16″) corrugations.

Thickness : 0.4 mm, 0.5 mm, 0.6 mm, 0.8 mm, 1.0 mm (other thicknesses available).
Widths: 914mm and 1220mm (914mm for corrugated rolls)

Application:

Polysurlyn Moisture Barrier is required to help prevent corrosion of the interior surface of the metal jacketing and the underlying insulated pipe, tank, or equipment. Polysurlyn Moisture Barrier is preferred on all types of metal jacketing including aluminium, stainless steel, galvanized steel, aluzinc, and aluminized steel types I and II to help prevent this corrosion. Polysurlyn Moisture Barrier is preferred on the metal jacketing for all applications of mechanical insulation including that used in hot, cold, pipe, tanks, and equipment, industrial, commercial, petrochemical, and oil/gas applications.
