The Rockwool Stone Wool Slab, part of the ROCKWOOL stone wool products, is made from basalt, a volcanic rock that is the world’s most abundant natural resource. ROCKWOOL stone wool products are non-flammable with a melting point above 1000°C. They are particularly suitable for thermal insulation, fire protection and sound reduction or absorption. ROCKWOOL stone wool is inorganic and does not contain any nutrients allowing no attacks by microorganisms. Therefore, Rockwool does not rot nor attract vermin.
No CFC, HFC, HCFC or asbestos are used in the manufacture of ROCKWOOL stone wool products.

The Cool ’n’ Comfort Series is specially formulated with a silicone water repellent covered onto every strand of the stone wool fibres. This unique coating permits Cool ’n’ Comfort to repel rainwater that comes into touch with the product, at the same time making sure the product’s wonderful thermal and acoustic overall performance even after it is exposed to water. As Cool ’n’ Comfort is usually carried out or left outside at some stage in installation, the silicone water repellent is added into the product as a general offering.
